Limassol, April 2nd 2020: Glexport, one of the leading investment firms on the island, announced that the Company has donated 20,000 euros to the “Butterfly Foundation” in Cyprus for the purchase of medical equipment to help combat the Corona Virus.
Thanks to the initiative of Glexport and other companies, a total amount of 300,000 euros has been successfully raised to purchase medical ventilators – a key device in the fight against the deadly virus. Moreover, the Foundation has invested in the purchase of a significant amount of medical gowns for front-line health care professionals who are working relentlessly to provide medical assistance to the public.
Johny Abuaitah, CEO of Glexport Group, stated “Each and every one of us could be affected by the Corona virus. It is our social responsibility and duty to participate in the fight against the COVID-19. For this reason, we have decided to invest in this important cause, hoping that our helping hand will also encourage those who are fighting to take care of our citizens not to give up the struggle and to stay safe”.
The 10 medical ventilators are approved by the Government and the State Health Services Organization and will be delivered by the end of April 2020 to medical facilities for immediate use.
